Who does Lonesome Dove Ranch serve?

We serve foster children who have endured unimaginable trauma, abuse, or neglect. Our kids camps serve children ages 6–12, and our teen camps serve ages 13–15.

Where is Lonesome Dove Ranch located?

The Ranch sits on 120 peaceful acres in Royse City, Texas.

How long has Lonesome Dove Ranch been operating?

Lonesome Dove Ranch was established in 2008 and has spent 17 years providing camps and care under our mission, “Where Healing Happens.”

Who founded Lonesome Dove Ranch?

Lonesome Dove Ranch was founded by Dr. Bryan and Haley Jarrett. You can read more on our Our Founders page.

Is Lonesome Dove Ranch faith-based?

Yes. Prayer, worship, and spiritual support are woven throughout the camp experience, alongside licensed counseling and therapeutic activities.

How is Lonesome Dove Ranch funded?

We are 100% privately funded — supported entirely by individual donors, local businesses, and churches. We do not receive government funding.

How many children do you serve each year?

We serve 300–350 children annually across roughly 7 camps per summer, with no more than 50 children per camp so every child receives personalized care.

What do campers do while they're here?

Therapeutic horseback riding, fishing, jet skiing, water slides, custom birthday celebrations, and more — all designed to build joy, confidence, and connection. Read more on our Ranch Life page.

I'm a foster parent or social worker — how do I send a child to camp?

Please fill out our Camper Interest Form and our team will follow up with you as new applications become available.

How can I volunteer?

Around 1,200–1,300 volunteers make our camps possible each year, at an adult-to-child ratio of 2–3:1. Fill out our Volunteer Interest Form to get started.

How can I donate?

You can give online, or mail a check to Lonesome Dove Ranch / RVSL Foundation, PO Box 99, Wylie TX 75098. All gifts are tax deductible.

What is the RVSL Foundation?
