Christmas is as much about preparing a place for Jesus as it is about the preparing heart of God.
In week two of our Advent series at Northplace Church, I shared how the act of preparation is an outward sign of love. The psalmist reminds us that God prepares a place for us in the presence of our enemies (Psalm 23:5) because of His love. An expectant mother prepares a place for her soon coming child because of her love. The Christmas story reminds us of the Father’s painstaking preparation to send us His only son – this was the greatest gift, and it was because of His love.
Even in the Christmas season, we are earnestly preparing a place for the ministry opportunities that lay ahead because of our love for forgotten people in forgotten places.
